Name: Princess Celestia

Age: 2000+, probably
History: Here!
Personality:
The Good Queen: Celestia is a very good ruler, focused on the happiness and growth of her ponies... but she'll protect them with everything she has. Her sole focus is to guide and improve ponykind's lot. In the course of this, Celestia is INCREDIBLY patient and very difficult to ruffle or upset normally. Dangerous and powerful threats receive proper serious concern, but panic doesn't enter the equation until all hope seems lost. Even in the face of someone she trusts committing potentially catastrophic harm, she's willing to listen to their side, and she can offer forgiveness and redemption to even absolutely awful people, no matter how badly they have personally hurt her, if she sees some hope of it. Those who have no such hope, though, she deals with decisively and powerfully, without hesitation -- even if they're her own sister.
Wisdom: Experience and general good sense make Celestia very together and very capable of guiding both a nation full of diverse ponies, and individuals who need her help and kindness. Equestria has profited greatly during her rule -- the land has gone from one that needs the protection of its Princess to one that can handle things just fine, thanks in large part to her guidance. Though not perfect, of course, Celestia has done well in helping others personally, from Twilight Sparkle to her sister to even Discord.
A Sense of Humor: Celestia is unafraid to laugh at herself, and is willing to break the ice with a little joke -- or indirectly sabotage a boring dance and giggle about it later. She absolutely does not take herself too seriously, which keeps her grounded and sensible despite her power and her age.
Always On Display: After centuries of rule, Celestia almost always has her Princess face on. She's regarded as a legend instead of a pony by her subjects. She's a very different pony when she's not 'on', but she rarely gets the chance -- even her time with her own sister is a little awkward, after that whole 'Nightmare Moon' thing. She can frequently be caught disliking this treatment -- she never makes anyone stand on ceremony with her, and she won't even dress up for the fanciest gala ball of the year. Celestia will do what she thinks Equestria and her subjects needs without any regard for herself or her own feelings.
Guilty and Alone: Celestia had to banish her own sister to the moon and do her job for a thousand years. She blames herself for failing, and likely always will. Other mistakes haunt her as well, though not perhaps none so grievous. Perhaps it would be better if she had someone to talk to, but no one has ever lived Celestia's life or even close to it, and no one can really understand it. She's something special and different, not a person so much as an idol or a force of nature, to literally everyone. She's sanguine about this, but the effect still shows here and there.
Always Keep In Mind: Despite her flaws and problems, Celestia is happy, well-adjusted, and as genuine as she seems. Though she is more complicated than she lets on, what she shows to others is all true.

Questions: Write an IC answer to the following questions:
What do you want to study at Diatu Magicademy?
Oh, everything, really! This is all utterly fascinating, and I have so much to learn. I don't know how much of it will be of practical use for me, but going to school is almost like a vacation.
If you knew you could go back to the moment you left, would you leave immediately or continue your studies for a while?
Truth be told, I'd stay a bit. Remember how I said it was a vacation? I welcome the time for a lack of responsibilities and performances and ruling.
If your enemy was at Diatu Magicademy, how would you react?
That hardly narrows it down. But I view this as neutral ground, and so long as they did the same, I would not act against them. I would be watching, though.
When is it acceptable to resolve a dispute by force?
When reason is impossible. Or would take too long, such that many would be suffering or worse while a dangerous foe was brought around to the side of sense.
What should the supreme goal of any wizard be?
Friendship and harmony, of course.
